Building upon the success of its debut at DSEI 2011, UKTI Defence & Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) will again be presenting a UK Capability Showcase at DSEI 2013. Media are invited on Tuesday 11th September at 12.00, Wednesday at 11.50 and Thursday at 12.00 to receive detailed briefings on the equipments.
UKTI DSO is creating overseas marketing guides on Defence & Security sectors in priority markets to help companies find information and promote themselves.

The 2013 UK Capability Showcase is larger than at DSEI 2011 and is now located in a prime position within the North Hall at DSEI 2013.

Designed to illustrate the partnership between the UK Government and UK industry, the showcase provides Industry with a platform to display their equipment and services alongside UK Government’s presentation of the Government export message. The range of capabilities on display are not only from the UK’s innovative prime contractors but also from a number of small and medium sized companies who can offer solutions not just for now but for future requirements.

This showcase is displayed against a background of another successful year for UK defence exports. In 2012 UK defence and security exports totalled £11.5bn. In defence, £8.8bn new UK export business was won, up 62% on the 2011 figure, in a global market that grew by 45%. The UK continues to be the second most successful defence exporter, only behind the USA, and to capture 20% of the global defence export market (based on a rolling 10 year average).

The UK Capability Showcase is divided into six zones:

• People
• Innovation
• Land
• Cyber
• Maritime
• Sustainability & Resilience

Capabilities and equipment will be presented through physical equipment being displayed, and imagery and video messaging. UKTI DSO Military personnel will provide briefing to visiting delegations on the various capabilities on show.

UKTI DSO has secured a wide range of industry participation on the UK Capability Showcase, ranging from Primes to SMEs, along with specially selected Government departments who will add further weight to the messages being presented.
