The production of the AV8 started in June 2014 and the first 8x8 armored vehicles were delivered to the Malaysian army at the end of 2014. According to a request from the Malaysian army, DEFTECH in collaboration with the Turkish company FNSS presents a 6x6 version in the PARS III family at DSA 2022, a defense exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The PARS III 6X6 is a new generation wheeled armored combat vehicle (WACV) designed and developed by the Turkish company FNSS offering high mobility, protection, payload and that can be upgraded according to the threats evolution of the modern battlefield.

The PARS III 6x6 is an armored personnel carrier but it can be configured to perform a wide range of missions according to customer requirements. The design of the vehicle is very unique with a two-man driver’s cab in front of the vehicle offering a 180° horizontal field of vision and a high level of driving safety and comfort. Large glass periscopes and front driving and maneuver cameras with thermal cameras located on the front and rear of the vehicle give the driver and the commander an even wider field of vision. The rear part of the vehicle can accommodate up to 6 military personnel.

Modular hull and armor design of PARS III 6X6 offers various levels of ballistic and mine protection according to customer requests. The hull form, underbelly structure, base plates and specially developed mine-resistant seats are designed to protect personnel against high-level mine threats. PARS III 6X6 vehicle runs ahead of its competitors by offering similar ballistic and mine protection levels to MRAP vehicles while maintaining the combat and mobility capabilities of modern armored combat vehicles.

The PARS III 6x6 is powered by an F34 Fuel JP8 Diesel engine coupled to a fully automatic transmission with seven forward and 1 reverse gears. It can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/g with a maximum cruising range of up to 800 km. The vehicle is capable of maneuvering on 60% vertical and 30% horizontal slopes, climbing 70 cm high obstacles, and crossing 175 cm wide trenches.

The PARS III 6x6 shares components used for the AV8. The modular connection of the vehicle subsystems to the mine-resistant hull ensures the ease of maintenance and replacement. This ease of maintenance and the easy replacement of moving parts and the power transmission systems, in particular, make the PARS III 6X6 superior to its counterparts.
