The 120 mm ATTM project is a collaboration between the Thai Ministry of Defense and the Israeli Company Elbit Systems which has provided the integration of its Elbit Soltam Spear 120mm mortar on a wheeled chassis. It is based on a 4x4 military truck chassis manufactured in India by TATA, fitted with a new 7mm-thick cargo platform able to carry the 120mm mortar system. The suspension of the truck has also been reinforced. The ATMM is equipped with a fire control system able to anlayse the ballistic data and control the electric drive system to point the mortar barrel to the desired azimuth and elevation angles. Feedback is delivered to the mortar fire control system through a GPS-based north finding system and inclinometer. The SPEAR mortar system has a rate of fire of 10 rounds a minute. It can engage targets at a maximum range of 6.5 km when using standard ammunition. The 120mm ATMM is operated by a crew of four.
