Armament |
The Streit Group 4x4 Cougar can be equipped with various types of weapon stations and turrets armed 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine guns or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher. The roof mounted turret can be rotated on 360° and can be fitted with armoured plate to protect the gunner about firing of Russian PKT 7.62mm caliber machine gun. As all modern armoured vehicles, a remote weapon station can be integrated on the Cougar APC to offer more protection in battlefield conditions. That type of weapon station can include a laser rangefinder, smoke grenade launchers, modular armour protection as well as long-range day and night cameras.

Design and protection |
The design of the Streit Group 4x4 Cougar APC is standard with the engine at the front, the crew in the middle and the troop's compartment at the rear. The Cougar has a steel hull with a large windscreen at the front, two side doors with bulletproof windows which provide good visibility under ballistic protection. The hull provides a protection for the crew CEN Level BR6 (7.62x51 mm NATO caliber at a range of 10 m). The front of the vehicle can accommodate three people and six at the rear on individual seat. Each side of the troop's compartment is fitted with three small bulletproof windows and three firing ports. A large door is provided in the rear of the hull which opens to the right and is provided with a bulletproof window and firing port in the upper part. On the roof is a hatch suitable for a central positioned weapon ring, which can mount a variety of weapons up to 12.7 mm in calibre.

Propulsion |
The Streit Group Cougar 4x4 APC is motorized with a 4.5L 6 cylinders gasoline engine developing 218 hp. at 4,600 rpm. The engine is coupled to a manual transmission with 5 speeds and one reverse. The suspension system comprising coil springs at the front and leaf springs with HD shock absorbers at the rear.

Accessories |
The Streit Group Cougar 4x4 APC can be equipped with a full range of equipment. A self-recovery winch is mounted at the front of the engine compartment. A spare wheel is fitted at the rear of the hull. All de wheels use the Hutchinson runflat system which allows the vehicle to travel up to 48 km on completely flat tires allowing soldiers to remove themselves from hostile environments.
