The European leading robotics and autonomous systems provider Milrem Robotics opened its office in The Netherlands on November 11, making the first step towards creating a Central European Robotics Center. Simultaneously, the company introduced its upgraded THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). Milrem Robotics Netherlands is the company's fifth office in Europe. The company has two offices in Estonia, one in Sweden and one in Finland.

According to information published by the Chinese Ministry of Defense on November 11, 2021, the new Chinese-made WZ-7 nicknamed Soar Dragon, High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) drone type was deployed for the first time by the Chinese armed forces to conduct live combat training. The WZ-7 is considered as one of the largest reconnaissance drones in the world.

According to Kelvin Chen in Taiwan News, Japan’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) plans to deploy an additional electronic warfare unit on Yonaguni Island in Okinawa Prefecture by the end of 2023. This move is meant to strengthen intelligence collection capabilities in the Taiwan Strait and the Diaoyutai Islands, where tensions with China have been growing.

According to Military Africa, Nigeria has taken delivery of the first batch of Chinese Dongfeng Mengshi (Warrior) CSK131 4×4 armored vehicles. They arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, November 7. Photographs showing at least 30 vehicles painted in factory green in Nigeria’s seaport surfaced on social media.

During the Air Defence Systems Group event 2021 organized by Rheinmetall, the German company has demonstrated a truck-mounted version of the Skynex Air Defense System fitted with an Oerlikon 35mm Revolver Gun Mk3. The Rheinmetall Skynex air defense system has demonstrated its ability to engage and destroy a swarm of eight small drones using the Oerlikon 35mm Revolver Gun Mk3.

Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE), the joint venture between the global aerospace and technology company, Paramount Group and one of Kazakhstan’s leading defence and engineering companies, Kazpetromash, has announced that its flagship and next-generation 8x8 Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV), the Barys 8x8, has successfully completed a four-year series of trials conducted by the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan, bringing the vehicle a step closer to its first production order. The Barys (‘Snow Leopard’ in Kazakh) is the localised version of Paramount Group’s Mbombe 8 (ICV) and was unveiled for the first time at the KADEX Exhibition of 2016.

According to Infodefensa, the PDI requested c-vehicles based on a Ford model 550 chassis designed for complex police procedures and with features to be used both in urban and rural places. The vehicle had to accommodate 10 police officers and be protected by an armor supporting ballistic impacts from different calibers on its whole body, including the windows.

According to information published by the Liberty Times on November 5, 2021, Taiwan will start next year a program to upgrade its fleet of M60A3 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs). The M60 is an American-made MBT that was manufactured by the company General Dynamics. The M60 entered service with the US Army in 1960 and from October 1962 the tank was succeeded in production under the name of M60A1. The M60A3 is an improved version of the M60A1. The first M60A3 MBTs were delivered to the Taiwanese army between 1995 and 2000.

According to Moroccan news website Le Desk.ma echoed by The North Africa Post, Israeli defense company Rafael is reportedly seeking to supply Morocco with its Iron Dome missile-defense system that would enable the Royal Armed Forces to add another defense layer for the protection of the Moroccan berm in the disputed Western Sahara as well as the sensitive civilian and military sites, added the French-language news outlet.

Delivery is scheduled to be completed by January 2023.
