The Spanish armed forces are already using other models of pistols from Glock including the G19 9mm pistol in service with the Spanish Air Force and the G17 also in 9mm caliber used by the Special Forces of the Spanish Navy.

The Glock G43 was unveiled in 2015 and it is a completely new pistol, not directly based on any other models. This pistol was designed as a secondary handgun for law enforcement, military, and self-defense environments. Glock wanted to create a gun with the same standard it set for other models (17,19,48) while making it as compact and small as possible. This gun works great for an ankle holster, purse, under a jacket, or on your hip because it has 15.2 cm in length and only weighing 500 gr.

As for the entire pistols manufactured by Glock, the G43 is a polymer-frame semi-automatic pistol. It has the same striker ignition system, short-recoil operated locked-breech barrel, and Safe-Action trigger found in other Glocks. The grip has a built-in beaver tail design which allows the shooter to acquire a high and tight grip. The aggressive texture of the grip surface allows for comfortable and reliable operation of the pistol. The large magazine catch makes quick work of removing the six-round magazine.

The Glock G43 is chambered in 9X19mm caliber with a 6-round magazine capacity. It has a barrel length of 86.5 mm and a weight of 585 gr. with a loaded magazine and 510 gr. with an empty magazine.
