Ukrainian company AutoKrAZ has been awarded a 3-year contract to supply the U.S. Army Contracting Command with KrAZ 4x4 heavy-duty Vehicles and spares. The vehicles ordered include personnel transports, flatbed trucks, water- and fuel tankers.

The Russian Defense Ministry plans to accept into service the first in the history of Russian artillery wheeled Malva self-propelled gun. A new airborne brigade is likely to receive it first. The gun will increase the airborne firepower and will help deliver an artillery group to the assigned area in hours, the Izvestia daily writes.

Rheinmetall has achieved another sales success in the United Kingdom. The British have ordered four more Mission Masters under the second phase (Spiral 2) of their Robotic Platoon Vehicle programme. Rheinmetall had already succeeded in placing its robotic vehicle in the Spiral 1 subproject of the UK’s RPV programme, which tests how unmanned vehicles can boost the firepower and capabilities of dismounted combat troops at platoon level.

The Czech army conducts field tests with the three new tracked armored IFVs (Infantry Fighting Vehicles) candidates to replace the old BVP-2 IFV, a Soviet-made BMP-2 manufactured under license in the Czech Republic. During six weeks, Czech soldiers of the 72nd Mechanized Battalion will test three new IFVs including the ASCOD from General Dynamics, the Lynx from Rheinmetall, and the CV90 from BAE Systems.

On April 23, 2021, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) demonstrated enhanced situational awareness and targeting capability for ground forces during a company-funded technology demonstration at Yuma Proving Grounds, Ariz. The demonstration focused on enabling a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) to control the Electro-optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor on a Gray Eagle Extended Range (GE-ER) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) and rapidly call for direct and indirect fire on an array of targets.

Jankel has delivered the first of their ‘next-generation Guardian Counter Terror Assault Vehicle-Urban (CTAV-URBAN) to an undisclosed customer. Based on the latest 2020 Ford F-550 platform, the Guardian CTAV-URBAN features a new Mobile Adjustable Ramp System (MARS) from long-standing partners Patriot 3 who work exclusively with Jankel in the UK.

The 209 new Lynx infantry fighting vehicles recently ordered by Hungary from Rheinmetall will be equipped with Rheinmetall’s StrikeShield hard-kill active protection system, or APS. Hungary is the latest customer for this innovative technology, which has formed part of the Rheinmetall portfolio since 2006. It will be supplied by Rheinmetall Protection Systems GmbH. The order is worth over €140 million.

The Defense Ministry of Iran is going to supply the Army with 1,000 military drones soon, Tasnim news agency reports. The Iranian Defense Ministry and the Army on Monday signed a “strategic agreement” on the promotion of drone power and the equipment carried by unmanned military aircraft.

According to information published on May 12, 2021, Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a Raytheon Technologies business, and KONGSBERG, a Norway-based defense technology company, successfully completed the first live-fire test of the Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile Extended Range (AMRAAM-ER) variant for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS).

According to a post of instructor and test pilot Eugene Podtikhov on Facebook, by order 114 dated May 11, the Ukrspec Leleka-100 (Stork) light drone has been officially adopted by the armed forces of Ukraine. The state tests took place in October 2020.

Lockheed Martin’s Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) successfully completed its fourth consecutive flight test with the U.S. Army on May 12 in a 400-kilometer demonstration at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The PrSM was fired from an M142 HIMARS launcher and flew with expected precision to the target area where it once again demonstrated a highly accurate and effective warhead event.
