Technamm is a French company that specializes in the design, manufacture, and distribution of armored and tactical vehicles for military, law enforcement, and security organizations. The company is based in France and offers a variety of vehicles to cater to different needs, from light 4x4 patrol vehicles to highly protected armored personnel carriers.

Like all military vehicles developed by the French company Technamm, the Fennec 2 is based on a commercial chassis, in this case, the Suzuki Jimny, a compact, off-road capable, four-wheel-drive SUV produced by the Japanese automaker Suzuki.

The Suzuki Jimny has been in production since 1970, and its popularity stems from its small size, affordable price, and impressive off-road capabilities. The Jimny has a loyal following among off-road enthusiasts and is known for its ruggedness, reliability, and simplicity.

Using their experience in the militarization of civilian vehicles, Technamm has completely modified the chassis and design of the vehicle to create a military vehicle with great mobility capabilities and the ability to integrate various military systems and the latest technologies in observation and intelligence.

The design of the Technamm Fennec is very unique, with the engine at the front, three seats in the middle with the driver and commander at the front, a gunner position at the rear, and a platform area at the back of the vehicle that can be used to transport additional military equipment. It has an open-top architecture with no doors and anti-roll and crash bars to protect the crew.

The roof of the vehicle is fitted with a ring-mount weapon station offering firing capabilities in 360°. The weapon station can be armed with one 12.7mm heavy machine gun and one anti-tank guided missile launcher station.

The Technamm Fennec 2 features very unique onboard equipment, including a special heating and air-conditioning system connected to the dashboard, which uses a hose that can be placed under the soldier's uniform to provide heat or cool the fighter in extremely cold or hot temperature conditions. The rear part of the vehicle can be configured to carry specific equipment, such as a small drone that can be used to conduct surveillance or reconnaissance missions.

The vehicle is powered by a diesel engine developing 150 hp and can run at a maximum road speed of 150 km/h. The Suzuki Jimny is known for its excellent all-terrain capabilities, which are largely due to its compact size, lightweight construction, and robust off-road features.

The Jimny comes with a part-time four-wheel-drive system, allowing the driver to switch between 2WD and 4WD depending on the terrain and driving conditions. It is also equipped with a low-range transfer case, which multiplies the engine's torque when driving in challenging off-road conditions. This allows the vehicle to crawl slowly over obstacles and climb steep inclines with ease.
