JSC Scientific and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod, named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky (Nizhny Tagil, part of the State Corporation Rostec) on March 1, 2021 reported to have sent a batch of T-90M tanks to the customer, which means the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The T-90M tank was developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (part of the Uralvagonzavod Concern, member of the Rostec State Corporation). It is the most advanced tank in the T-90 family. The T-90M tank significantly surpasses its predecessor T-90 in combat effectiveness but, at the same time, retains its advantages such as exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance during operation.
At the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2017", on August 24, 2017, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed a contract with JSC Scientific and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) for the supply of a firt batch of 30 T-90M tanks (Object 188M, ROC" Breakthrough-3 "). According to the published data, out of 30 T-90M tanks of this first contract, 10 should be new-built vehicles, and the remaining 20 were to be converted during overhaul and modernization from T-90 tanks. However, according to other sources, all T-90M tanks should be newly-built ones.
Under the terms of the 2017 contract, the delivery of 30 of these T-90M tanks was supposed to be made in 2018-2019. But the actual delivery of the first 10 tanks to the tank battalion of the 1st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District tookplace only in April 2020. Another batch of T-90M tanks was delivered there in November 2020, and another batch was delivered to the Kazan Tank School at the same time.

At the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2018", on August 21, 2018, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed another contract with UVZ for the supply of 30 additional T-90M tanks to be upgraded from T-90 tanks (according to other sources, also new production), with the announced delivery date for 2019. Apparently, it seems that the present delivery of this contract.
Finally, on June 28, 2019, at the Army-2019 International Military-Technical Forum, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed another contract with UVZ to upgrade another 100 T-90A tanks to the T-90M standard.
BMPD recalls that it was also reported that, in 202,0 it was planned to sign a new contract for the production and modernization of about 100 more T-90 tanks to the T-90M standard.
