Russia’s JSC Remdizel is expanding its family of Taifun-K mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles, Designer General of the company Igor Zarakhovich told the TASS news agency. According to him, Remdizel now trials more than ten modifications of the Taifun-K vehicles. “As of October 2020, we produce nine variants of the Taifun-K, including those for export, and more than ten modifications are completing their tests,” said Zarakhovich.

Subsidiaries of Rostec - the military division of PJSC Motovilikhinskiye Zavody and NPO SPLAV im. A.N. Ganichev - started preparing the TOS-2 "Tosochka" combat vehicle for state tests. Lockheed Martin announced on March 4 that it successfully tested its next-generation Extended-Range Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (ER GMLRS) munition in an 80-kilometer flight demonstration at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. During the flight test, the ER GMLRS round was fired from the U.S. Army’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launcher, built by Lockheed Martin, meeting test objectives.

Jankel, a world-leader in the design and manufacture of high-specification defence, security and NGO protection systems, has received an order for 35 Toyota LC200 vehicles following the recent launch of their “Act Now – Armour Later” initiative.The vehicles have been ordered by an undisclosed existing customer and will be securely stored and maintained by Jankel prior to being armoured, as required.

A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy joint expeditionary training group recently conducted a series of combat-scenario, cross-service exercises including amphibious landing in waters away from the mainland. Liu Xuanzun reports on Global Times. The location of the drills remained undisclosed. A PLA Navy announcement last week said the group had sailed past the equator.

Mack Defense announced on March 3 that the U.S. Army ordered 99 Mack Defense M917A3 non-armored Heavy Dump Trucks (HDT) as part of the previously announced contract that could be worth up to $296.4 million over seven years between the U.S. Department of Defense and Mack Defense. Initial deliveries of the Mack Defense M917A3 HDT will begin in May 2021.

The German and Israeli defense ministries have signed a government-to-government (G2G) agreement for the purchase of the Rafael-made Trophy active protection system for the Bundeswehr’s Leopard 2 tanks.
