Germany delivers locally-made Vector drones to Ukrainian armed forces

The picture published on Telegram also shows that Germany would also deliver 60 Aladin and 7 Songbird drones to the Ukrainian armed forces. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, drones have now become essential equipment for the armed forces and can be used for reconnaissance missions during artillery fire but also carried out combat missions armed with missiles, bombs, or hand grenades.

The Vector is a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) developed by the German company Quantum-Systems. The drone is designed to conduct a wide range of missions including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). It can perform battlefield surveillance, border patrol, and search and rescue.

The Vector is an electrically powered VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drone with three rotary rotors mounted on the wings (one each) and on the tail. With its low noise emission, it can carry out intelligence missions without being able to be heard and spotted.

Thanks to its electric motor, the Vector can fly for up to three hours of battery life. It is fitted with high-value sensors with powerful optics while keeping size and weight at a minimum. The result is state-of-the-art stability combined with unmatched robustness. Thanks to its modular concept, the front section of Vector can be equipped with different payloads including a digital camera, image stabilization system, and object tracking system.

The Vector is able to fly at a speed of up to 72 km/h and is capable of withstanding winds with a maximum speed of 12 m/s. It has a wingspan of 2.8m and can be operated at a maximum range of 20 km.

The Vector drone can be also converted into a tricopter model in just in a few minutes by removing the wings and replacing the brackets and the tail section. in this configuration, the drone is 1 kg lighter than the original Vector and can fly for 35 minutes at a maximum speed of 54 km/h.
