In 2020, Streit Group launched the third phase of expansion of the company with the construction of six new buildings in Ras Al Khaimah facility (Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) that will be ready towards the end of 2021. Patria has finalized the qualification of the fire-on-the-move capability on land-based systems in both direct and indirect fire missions. This new outstanding feature of the Patri Nemo allows troops to be in constant movement during the fire mission and therefore it does not form a clear target for the counter-battery fire.

The equipment in collective micro-drone systems meets an operational need of the three services (land, air, sea), both for conventional forces and for special forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense on its Twitter account reports on January 11 that in the Moscow region, classes with driver-mechanics on overcoming obstacles on T-34 tanks started. Tankers worked out overcoming anti-tank ditches and mine-explosive obstacles. Also, the servicemen performed maneuvering in high-speed sections and turns.

The contract for the Cerbere program (centre d’entraînement représentatif des espaces de bataille et de restitution des engagements, training center representative of battlefields and engagement simulation) was notified by the DGA to the industrial group made up of Thales and RUAG Defense France on December 30, 2016. In 2023, thanks to Cerbere, Centac and Cenzub will each be able to simultaneously train three SGTIAs (Sous-Groupements Tactiques Inter-Armes , Tactical Inter-Arms Sub-Groups) equipped with simulation instruments and action monitoring sensors, respectively over an open area covering 120 km² and over an urban area representative of a city of 3,000 inhabitants.

The Norwegian Armed Forces has signed a framework agreement with Saab for the Carl-Gustaf M4, Saab announced on January 11, 2020. Saab has received an initial order with deliveries in 2021. The recently signed framework agreement allows the Norwegian customer to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4, associated equipment and training systems during a 7-year period.

Racal Acoustics, the UK-based global designer and manufacturer of audio communications and protection systems, announced on January 11 a new contract to supply the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO), with their RA4000 Magna digital headset system. The 7-year framework contract is worth up to USD $4.7million and includes a full support package comprising of training, consumables and spares, plus an option to supply follow-on orders, as required.

Units of the Russian Army will receive more than 400 armored vehicles in 2021, the Defense Ministry’s press office said. “Under the state defense procurement program, defense contractors will hand over advanced and upgraded armored vehicles to the Russian Defense Ministry. The armored vehicles have demonstrated their effectiveness in various climatic conditions,” the press office said.

Cohemo, with another Spanish partner, will be responsible for the maintenance of the Spanish army’s 84 Centauro combat vehicles. The maintenance work will span on two years, until December 2022. On January 8, 2021, the Nigerian army in the north-east of the country launched a large-scale counter-terrorist operation called "Tura Takai Bango" against the militants of Boko , BMPD reports. In particular, Chinese-made NORINCO VT4 tanks, ST1 wheeled tanks and SH5 105-mm self-propelled artillery units manufactured by Norinco are taking part in the operation. This represents the first combat use of the VT4.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on January 5 that eighteen units of the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV artillery system will first enter service with the Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the Western Military District in 2021.
