Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, France has already delivered different types of combat vehicles and air defense systems including VAB APCs (Armored Personnel Carriers), AMX-10RC reconnaissance anti-tank wheeled armored vehicles as well as Mistral portable air defense missile systems, and Crotale NG air defense systems.

The AMX-10P is a French-made tracked armored personnel carrier (APC) that was first introduced in the late 1960s. It entered in service with the French army in 1973. Several variants of the AMX-10P have been produced over the years, including a command vehicle, a recovery vehicle, and a mortar carrier. The vehicle has been involved in numerous conflicts around the world, including the Gulf War and the Bosnian War.

The hull of the AMX-10P is made of all-welded aluminum armor with the driver's compartment at the front of the vehicle on the left, the engine compartment to the right and the troop compartment at the rear of the hull. The armor provides protection against the firing of small arms and artillery shell splinters.

The AMX-10 is fitted with a two-man turret mounted on the center of the top hull with the gunner seated on the left and the commander on the right. The turret is armed with Giat Industries M693 20 mm dual-feed cannon is mounted externally on the turret and has a dual-feed system allowing the gunner to select either HE (High-Explosive) or AP (Armor Piercing) projectiles, and a burst selector. The cyclic rate of fire of the 20 mm cannon is 700 rds/min and the maximum effective range is 1,500 m. One 7.62mm coaxial machine gun is mounted to the right of the main armament.

The AMX-10P has a crew of three including a driver, gunner, and commander. The rear part of the vehicle can accommodate eight infantrymen. They enter and leave by the large electrically operated ramp at the rear, which is hinged at the bottom and has two doors, each with a firing port.

The AMX-10P is based on a tracked chassis consisting of a torsion bar suspension with five single rubber-tired road wheels with the drive sprocket at the front, idler at the rear and three track-return rollers.

The AMX-10P is powered by a Hispano-Suiza HS 115 V-8 water-cooled supercharged diesel engine developing 260 hp at 3,000 rpm coupled to a preselective transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse gears. It can run at a maximum road speed of 65 km/h with a maximum road range of 500 km.
