Russian motorized rifle units on Sakhalin and Kuril Islands start combat coordination of platoons
According to the Russian ministry of Defense, servicemen of the motorized rifle units of the army corps of the Eastern Military District on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands have embarked on the next stage of combat training : the coordination of platoons.

After theoretical and practical exercises at the points of permanent deployment, motorized riflemen went to the Uspenovsky training ground to practice their knowledge and skills. At the training grounds of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces, platoon commanders will have to master the procedure for controlling subordinate units and means of reinforcement in conditions as close as possible to combat ones, to work out the issues of conducting a defensive battle and the procedure for an offensive in combat vehicles.
This stage of combat training will end with live firing of platoons at the military firing ranges of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces, during which servicemen will need to hit various targets imitating the manpower and armored vehicles of a conventional enemy from all types of weapons. At least half of the lessons will be held at night using tracer ammunition and night vision scopes. In the course of these exercises, the platoon personnel practice the conduct of hostilities, and the maximum coherence of personnel is achieved when performing combat training missions.
In order to prevent hypothermia among the military personnel, additional heating points for personnel have been organized at the training grounds of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces, in which the issuance of hot tea and additional food is provided.
In total, more than 2,000 servicemen of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces and about 300 units of military equipment were involved in the stage of coordinating the platoons.
