The list comprises 780 strategically important components, spare parts and subsystems. They have all to be produced by domestic enterprises. Some products have to be substituted by December 2023 while others can wait until December 2028.

The list included components for Russian T-90 tanks and Su-30MKI jets. Most substituted components concern submarines.

In April, the Indian Defense Ministry published the third list of 101 imported products for substitution in five years. They included seaborne helicopters, patrol ships, antiship missiles, air defense missiles, tanks, some types of drones, loitering munitions, etc.

The first two lists of substituted imports were published in 2020 and 2021 and included 209 products. In five years, India saved 20 percent on arms imports.
