As Laurent Lagneau reports in opex360.com, the Brazilian army (Exército Brasileiro) is talking about modernizing, or strengthening, its long-range artillery within the framework of the VBCOAP program (Viatura Blindada de Combate Obus Autopropulsada), which aims to acquire 36 155 mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers. And, to this end, the Logistics Command (Comando Logístico – COLOG) of the Brazilian Army has issued a request for information from manufacturers likely to deliver such a capability.

On 23 August 2022, in the presence of company officials from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, the Norwegian military procurement agency, NDMA, formally transferred over a hundred new HX and TGS-mil military trucks to the Norwegian Army, the end customer. The ceremony took place at Sessvollmoen military base near Oslo. Major General Øyvind Johan Kvalvik, Deputy Director of the NDMA, symbolically handed over the keys to the Norwegian Army’s second in command, Brigadier General Frode Ommundsen.

"26 MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush-Protected - PAP) Cougar 4x4 vehicles have reached the 18th Command Battalion of the Iron Division," Mariusz Blaszczak, the Polish Defence Minister, tweeted on August 30. On 24 August, the Czech Ministry of Defence concluded a contract for the acquisition of 209 Tatra 815-7 6x6 heavy-duty off-road trucks in a flatbed design with a total value of more than CZK 1.9 billion (USD 77.5 Mn). Taiwan has successfully developed an indigenous remote-controlled drone defense system, Matt Yu and Evelyn Kao of China News Agency report, and it will first be deployed in the nation's outlying islands to counter hostile drone incursions, the Ministry of National Defense said on August 24, after a video emerged showing Taiwanese soldiers throwing rocks at a drone near a sentinel station on one of the islands.

As reported by Army Recognition back in 2021 and now by Dinakar Peri in The Hindu, the Indian Army is looking to procure a new-generation ‘Future Tank’ under the Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV) project in a phased manner, with expected induction by 2030. An earlier ambitious attempt failed to take off and official sources said the domestic industry is now ready to take the project forward quickly. The Mechanised Infantry is also pushing hard to get a new vehicle under the Future Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV) project to replace its aging Soviet-era BMP-2s.

Hanwha Defense signed an execution contract on August 26 to supply K9 Thunder Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPHs) to Poland.
