Around 8,000 British Army troops will conduct a series of planned exercises across Europe this summer in one of the largest deployments since the Cold War, the British Government states. Bittium has received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for system support concerning the Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) and Bittium Tough VoIP systems, which are meant for tactical communications. For the third time, the British Ministry of Defence has awarded Rheinmetall a contract for its Robotic Platoon Vehicles (RPV) programme. The RPV programme is a three-phase experiment to determine the extent to which unmanned vehicles can boost the combat effectiveness and capabilities of dismounted troops at platoon level. For Spiral 3, the programme’s final phase, the British once again chose to work with Rheinmetall Canada.

As reported by Cindy Centofanti in KRDO, thanks to CROWS-J, the 2nd Brigade Stryker Combat Team based at Fort Carson is now considered the most lethal fighting force out of the entire U.S. Army. Officials at the Mountain Post credit this to its brand new CROWS-J system, which is an advanced optic on a stabilized mount that allows soldiers to fire FGM-148 Javelin missiles from a stationary vehicle. Previously, soldiers had to be on the ground and manually fire them.

The French Directorate for Armament (DGA) has received 3 medical VAB (VAB SAN) armored vehicles enhanced to the "counter-IED evolution" standard.
