Relations between Greece and Saudi Arabia are at their highest level, Makis Pollatos reports in Greek City Times. Saudi F-15 fighter jets arrived in Crete for co-training with Greek fighter jets. Furthermore, Greece’s Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and National Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos will travel to Riyadh on April 20 to sign an agreement for the deployment of a Greek Patriot air defense missile system to Saudi Arabia.

In the wake of what Army Recognition already reported on September 6, 2020, while talks between India and China are yet to see a conclusive result, the Chinese army has deployed its HQ-9 long-range air defense systems near the de facto border in Ladakh, raising the tensions in the region. Russia’ Rezonans-N radar, capable of spotting hypersonic missiles and deployed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in November last year, will enter service no later than in June 2021, Rezonans Science and Research Center Director General Alexander Shramchenko has told TASS. "The third Rezonans-N radar station will go on combat duty on Novaya Zemlya this May or June," he said.

EDA participates this week in the Exercise ‘Locked Shields 2021’, the largest and most complex international live-fire cyber defence exercise organised from 13-16 April by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). The Russian Armed Forces are now trained to operate the Pantsir-S self-propelled anti-aircraft gun-missile (SPAAGM) system (NATO reporting name: SA-22 Greyhound) against ground targets, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) : “The crews of Pantsir-S SPAAGMs of the Western Military District have practiced engaging light armored vehicles of a simulated enemy at the Ashuluk range in the Astrakhan Region,” said the MoD in a news release. The troops used 30 mm automatic guns to engage the targets.

On April 3, 2021, the predominantly armored tactical combined arms sub-grouping (SGTIA, Sous-groupement tactique interarmes) of the Lynx 9 mission began Exercise Bold Eagle in the vicinity of Tapa, Estonia. In addition to the French SGTIA, this exercise mobilizes American, British and Estonian troops.

In the early morning hours on 10 Apr, 2021, special operations forces at Ramstein, Germany, assigned to the 352d Special Operations Wing, loaded the 41st Field Artillery Brigade’s M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) in preparation for a cross-theater Rapid Aerial Insertion operation to Romania. This is just one of a series of related missions demonstrating the U.S. European Command’s ability to quickly employ long-range precision fires in a time and place of their choosing to support NATO allies and partners.

The original Reva Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) is a mine-protected vehicle (MRAP). It is produced by Integrated Convoy Protection. Other variants than the APC available are: command and control vehicle, ambulance, recovery vehicle, VIP transport, and now antitank missile and mortar carrier using a deeply modified shape of the original vehicle.

As announced by Army Recognition on April 20, Taiwan reconfirmed its intention to increase the tank component in the ranks of its army and simultaneously modernize it, amid increasing tension with China. At the same time, the command notes that "the United States of America will provide assistance in this plan." The Special Machine-Building Design Bureau (SKBM, a subsidiary of Rostec’s holding High-Precision Weapons) is developing the newest Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) on schedule, the press department of High-Precision Weapons told TASS on April 7.
