In November 2020, Army Recognition has announced that the Czech Army has the Toyota Hilux in pickup version to replace the UAZ-469 and Land Rover 4x4 light tactical vehicles in service with the Czech armed forces.

According to military sources, Czech armed forces have a total of 661 Land Rover Defender 110, 79 Land Rover Defender 130, and 630 UAZ-469, a Soviet-made 4x4 light tactical vehicle.

The Toyota Hilux is an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) designed and manufactured by the Japanese automobile producer Toyota. The Toyota Hilux for the Czech will a militarized version produced by the Czech company Glomex MS according to the needs and requirements of the Czech army.

The Czech Army plans to acquire a total of 1,200 Toyota Hilux in a pickup version which is able to accommodate up to five military personnel.
