French army receives first Arquus VT4 tactical vehicles in new camouflage

On Dec.18, 2019, the 40th Artillery Regiment (40e RA) based in Suippes received the first four Arquus VT4 tactical vehicles in standard 2.1 with new land force brown color which characterizes the Scorpion program. These deliveries translate the renewal of the French army equipment triggered by the Military Programming Law 2019-2025.

In 2019, the French Army will have received 430 standard 2.1 vehicles, of the 500 that were delivered to the Ministry of the Armed Forces: 196 to "center Europe" camouflage and 237 in brown ("Brun Terre de France"). In early 2020, deliveries will begin overseas. The brown color (“brun terre de France) will be the unique background and the basis of the new army camouflage. On this unique background, interchangeable camouflage depending on the theater (snow, desert, urban) can very quickly be installed or removed. The VT4 will remain in this uniform color. From January 2020, all VT4s delivered will be in this brown color.

At the end of the Military Planning Law 2019-2025, the Land Force will be equipped with 3,980 VT4s, out of the 4,380 planned for the armed forces.
