Armament |
The main armament of the PGZ-04A is composed four guns of 25 mm calibre, two coupled guns mounted to each side of the turret, each canon has a cyclic rate of fire of 600 to 800 rounds per minute per barrel. About 1,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition are carried, and the empty cartridge cases are ejected outside of the turret. The system can be reloaded via an automatic loading mechanism. The 25 mm gun can be also used against ground targets and would be able to destroy most light armoured fighting vehicles. The PGZ-04A is also armed with four with four QW-2 IR-homing, short-range surface-to-air missiles. To supplement his self-protection, the PGZ-04A is equipped with a bank of four electrically operated forward-firing smoke grenade launchers is mounted either side on the lower part of the turret for self-protection.

Design and protection |
The hull and the turret of the PGZ-04A is made of high hardness armor steel, which provide a protection against small arms firing and shell splinters of the battle field.

Mobility |
The PGZ-04A uses a tracked armoured chassis with six road wheels, a drive sprocket at the front , an idler at the rear and three return rollers on each side. The engine is located at the front of the vehicle, with the driver sitting to the left of it.

Accessories |
At the front of the turret is mounted the electro-optical tracking equipment which consists of a TV tracking camera, and infra-red tracking camera and a laser rangefinder. At the rear of the top urret is mounted the CLC-1 S-band pulse-doppler search radar which has a reported range of 11 kilometers, and is optimized to detect low-flying targets.
