The 2S42 Lotos is a new self-propelled mortar system, designed for the Russian airborne and naval infantry units. The vehicle is presented for the first time to the public at Army-2019. According to our first analysis, the 2S42 is based on a BMD airborne tracked chassis but with 7 road wheels.

Army-2019 Forum officially opens its doors on this Tuesday, 25 June, and will end on Sunday, 30 June, in the Patriot exhibition center (Patriot Park) near Kubinka, in the Moscow region. Over 1,500 enterprises are displaying over 27,000 exhibits, according to preliminary estimates. The Russian Western Military District itself is demonstrating over 60 units of arms and hardware at Army-2019 forum, including T-90A and T-80U tanks, the district said. Many more items are displayed on the very wide area.

Rostec State Corporation presents over 1000 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment at the ARMY-2019 forum, which has opened in Kubinka, near Moscow. These include tanks, IFVs, helicopters, UAVs, artillery systems and ammunition, advanced firearms, communications equipment, EW systems and many more.

The UralVagonZavod Research and Production Corporation (UVZ, an affiliate of the Russian State Corporation Rostec) is presenting around 20 pieces of military hardware, including the 2S41 Drok self-propelled mortar and an upgraded T-90MS tank at the Army-2019 International Military Technical Forum, a source at the corporation’s press service told TASS.
