The T-90A, basis of the MTU-2020, is the successor of the standard T-90 main battle tank. T-90As entered service in 2005, replacing the aging T-72s and T-80s and forming the backbone of Russian ground forces. The MTU-2020 can reach 60 km/h, which means that its heavy folding bridge doesn’t affect the tank’s performance. The bridge made of composite steel is 27 meters long when unfolded, and 4.60 meters wide. It can stand the passage of a 60-tonne load. The complete system weighs 58.5 tonnes. The crew counts two members.
