Design and protection |
The DT-10PM is composed of two tracked vehicle units linked by a rotating coupling. The hulls of the two sections are pressurized monocoque welded design. There are two load-carrying areas, one on the front section behind the cab and power pack and the other including the total platform area of the second unit. Both load areas may be covered by a tarpaulin. The front load area measures 2.2 m long by 2.81 m wide. The rear area measures 6.2 × 2.81 m. At the front of the first section, there is an enclosed cab for five personnel with the engine compartment behind. The front vehicle is fitted with two doors, one on each side. The DT-10PM can carry a total of 10 people, including the crew of five. It has also the capacity to carry 10 tonnes of military equipment. The crew cabin is equipped at the front with three large windows with one individual wiper for each. There is also two hatches on the roof of the crew cabin. |
Mobility |
The DT-10PM is motorized with a YaMZ-847.10 diesel engine developing 800 hp. The transmission uses a shaft-type reinforced 4-speed hydro-mechanical gearbox with a matching reducing unit and a serial torque converter. The suspension is of torsion-bar independent type. The front unit has four road wheels each side and the rear unit five. The road wheels are rubber-tired with a sponge rubber inner tube. The track assembly of each section has front drive sprocket location. The track have no joints and consist of two rubber-fabric belts connected through steel crossbars. The front section has an auxiliary mechanical brake control drive for maneuvering during disconnection and connection of the section. The DT-10PM can run at a maximum road speed of 45 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km. The DT-10PM can negotiate a gradient of 35° and side slopes of 20°. |
Accessories |
The DT-10PM has five-seat pressurized cabin heated from the OV-65 heater and supplied with air from the filtering and ventilation system. The crew cabin includes damage protection ensured through a forward extending bumper and has all necessary life support systems, a good interior and visibility. The cabin can be fitted with an R-123M radio set. The DT-10PM is full amphibious. On water it is propelled by its tracks and can reach a maximum speed of 5 km/h. |
