Ukraine participates to NATO exercises in Estonia


While fighting against the Russian-backed separatists in the eastern part of their country, Ukrainian troops will take part in Spring Storm 2019, a multinational NATO exercise in Estonia starting on May 2. The exercise is involving troops from the US, Belgium, Georgia, Canada, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, France, Germany, Finland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Estonia.

Spring Storm 2019, the largest military exercises in Estonia conducted under the auspices of NATO, will last three weeks. 9,000 soldiers from 13 countries including Ukraine are scheduled to take part in the exercise.

During the exercises, which will last until May 17, the active phase of the exercise taking place on May 2-10 with the participation of warships of the Estonian Navy and allies in the ports of Tallinn and Lääne-Viru County. In addition, Eurofighter aircraft of the German and British Air Forces, Su-22 attack aircraft of the Polish Air Force, British Army Wildcat and Apache helicopters, and Pave Hawk of the United States Air Force will be involved in the exercises.
