Russian Defense Ministry is willing to pursue bilateral relations with Republic of Congo armed forces
The Russian Defense Ministry is willing to pursue bilateral relations between the militaries of Russia and the Republic of the Congo, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin has said during his meeting with Congolese Minister of National Defense Charles Richard Mondjo.

"I am certain that this meeting will facilitate the bilateral relations between the armed forces of Russia and the Republic of the Congo," Fomin said at the 6th Moscow Conference on International Security.

According to him, the cooperation between the two countries dates back quite a while and has covered numerous spheres, including economy, culture and arms trade.

"I hope very much that our meeting will be another contribution to the Russian-Congolese relations," Fomin said.

The Republic of Congo armed forces uses lot of military equipment from Russia including T-72AV and T-55 main battle tank, BRDM-2 4x4 APC, BMP-1 tracked IFV, BTR-60PB 8x8 APC, BTR-50 and MT-LB.
