Kazakhstan would like to supply Arlan 4x4 multirole armoured vehicles to Azerbaijan.
According to the website haqqin.az, Kazakhstan would like to supply Arlan 4x4 armoured vehicle to Azerbaijan. The Arlan is a multirole armoured vehicle manufactured by Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering, based on the Marauder, a mine protected vehicle designed and produced by the South African Company Paramount Group.

The Arlan multirole armoured vehicle was unveiled in May 2016 during the defense exhibition KADEX in Astana, Kazakhstan. The vehicle is in service with the armed forces of kazakhstan since August 2016.

In January 2016, Jordan has signed a military cooperation with Kazakhstan for the purchase of 50 Arlan multirole armoured vehicles.

The Arlan is produced by Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE), a joint venture between South Africa's Paramount Group and state-owned Kazakhstan Engineering. The 4x4 mine protected armoured vehicle Arlan is based on the Paramount Marauder mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle.

The first production of the Arlan armoured was started in November 2015, and three variants of the vehicle were unveiled during the defense exhibition KADEX in May 2016.

The Arlan multirole armoured features a monocoque-type armoured design for the crew compartment. The armour of Arlan provides mine protection up to 8 kg of TNT (STANAG 4569 Level 3b) anywhere under the hull and 14 kg TNT (greater than STANAG 4569 Level 4a) for a blast under any wheel.

The Arlan can carry a total of 10 military personnel including driver , commander and gunner. The troop compartment can accommodate up to seven infantrymen.

The Arlan in service with the Kazakhstan armed forces are fitted with a remotely operated weapon station armed with 12.7mm heavy machine gun.
