Russian Aerospace Forces have received 168 launcher units of S-400 air defense missile system.
Russian Aerospace Forces (AF) have received 168 launcher units of S-400 (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) air defense system (ADS) developed by the Almaz-Antey Concern, according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies` (IISS) report.

The Russian Aerospace Forces are the Aerospace Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It was established as a new armed force on the 1 August 2015 with the merging of the Russian Air Force (VVS) and the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces (VKO) under the recommendations of the Ministry of Defence.

Russian Aerospace Forces include the Air Force, the Spaces Forces and the Aerospace Defence Forces.

As of March 2016, the Air Force of the AF has deployed 48 S-400, 400 S-300PS/PM (SA-10B Grumble/SA-20 Gargoyle) and 20 S-300V (SA-12 Gladiator/Giant) ADS launching units. The AF have also got several S-300PM2 launching units, but the IISS does not specify their number.

The service has received 80 9K317 Buk-M1 (SA-17 Grizzly) medium-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system and 12 96K6 Pantsir-S (SA-24 Greyhound) self-propelled anti-aircraft gun-missile (SPAAGM) systems.

The Aerospace Defense Command of the AF has deployed 120 launching units of S-400 and 120 launching units of S-300PM (SA-20 Gargoyle) air defense systems and 30 96K6 Pantsir-S SPAAGMs. Several Pantsir-S systems of the AF have been upgraded with new integrated bidirectional radar station.-
