Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs receives first KrAZ Shrek One route clearance vehicle
According to pictures released on local websites, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs is now equipped with a first KrAZ Shrek One route clearance vehicle variant. Other models of the Shrek One Mine Protected Vehicle are already in use in the Ukrainian armed forces, such as the personnel carrier variant, which has been delivered in February to the country's National Guard.

According to local medias, the Shrek One RCV has been deployed in Mariupol, which remains under the control of Ukrainian forces despite repeated attacks by pro-Russian forces.

The Shrek One route clearance vehicle variant has been designed by “AutoKrAZ” and Streit Group, leading manufacturer of armored vehicles.

This multirole MPV (Mine Protected Vehicle) vehicle is mounted on the KrAZ-5233 4x4 AWD chassis cab. The KrAZ-MPV Shrek One has V-hull. Ballistic protection meets B6+/STANAG 4569 level 2. Tires are provided with CTIS and RunFlat inserts. STREIT Group/KrAZ Shrek One is motorized with the YAMZ-238D (Yaroslav Motor Plant, Russia) 14.86 liter V8 diesel engine producing 330bhp, the Shrek 4x4 features ample pulling power.

The RCV version features Interrogation Arm with Grasping rake and CCTV system for landmine clearing with crew safe inside protected cab. Air Digger and Water Disruptor remotely controlled from the cab are available as option.

Depending on application, the KrAZ Mine Protected Vehicle Shrek One is offered in three versions: KrAZ Troop Carrier, KrAZ Ambulance, and KrAZ-RCV.
