Serbia improves its defence cooperation with Saudi Arabia
Serbian State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic met with the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Saudi Arabia, headed by Staff Colonel Alamri Faris Ali. The visit was deemed as a valuable chance to present to the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the production programs of the defence industry of Serbia, and the capacities of Serbian institutions of military education and military medicine.

State Secretary Djordjevic expressed his belief that the bilateral relations between the two countries would develop in mutual interest, which should be further improved by the signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of defence.

Djordjevic also introduced the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Saudi Arabia with Serbia’s foreign policy goals, stressing that the Ministry of Defence is active in nearly all segments of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. He also pointed out that, during its OSCE Chairmanship, Serbia would insist on dialogue and mutual understanding in all issues.

Yugoimport could benefit from this rapprochement. Yugoimport SDPR is a Serbian state-owned defence company and represents the Government and military industrial complex of Serbia in the sphere of importation and exportation cooperation of defence equipment and related services. It is the largest company in the local defense industry.
