Paramount Group to acquire DCD Protected Mobility facilities to boost armored vehicles production.
Paramount Group, the Africandefence and aerospace business, April 9, 2015, announced the acquisition of certainmanufacturing facilities, industrial assets and employees of DCD Protected Mobility, a leading South African armoured vehicle manufacturer, in a move that will boost armoured vehicle production in Africa asglobal demand for military industries.
     
Pretoria.Paramount Group, the Africandefence and aerospace business, April 9, 2015, announced the acquisition of certainmanufacturing facilities, industrial assets and employees of DCD Protected Mobility, a leading South African armoured vehicle manufacturer, in a move that will boost armoured vehicle production in Africa asglobal demand for military equipmentrises. Paramount Group of South Africa produces a full range of combat armoured vehicles.
     
The announcement follows an increasing demand for Paramount’s world-class range of military and internal security vehicles from the most discerning defence and police forces across the world.
 

Situated in Isando, Johannesburg, the newly acquired manufacturing facilities will enable Paramount Group to significantly increase the production capacity of its armoured vehicle range in South Africa.

Paramount Group recently announced a major contract withJordan during IDEX 2015, the largest defence expo in the Middle East. Paramount Group will supply the Jordanian Armed Forces with 50 of its leading infantry fighting vehicles, the Mbombe 6. The vehicles will be manufactured in South Africa and Jordan.

To this end, we explored a number of ways of doing so, and are now pleased to announce that we concluded the transaction to secure the manufacturing facilities, certain assets and selected personnel of DCD Protected Mobility, a Division of the DCD Group (Pty) Ltd.”

Once fully operational, this facility will be one of the largest armoured vehicle and land forces manufacturing facilities anywhere in the world, with a capacity to scale production to more than 400 units per annum. This will have a significant impact on our supplier base and for the South African economy at large.”
