Poland's border police have announced plans to build six watchtowers along its border with Kaliningrad. The move comes after Moscow said it will position state-of-the-art Iskander missiles in the Russian enclave. According to Poland's border police spokeswoman, Miroslawa Aleksandrowicz, the six 50-meter-high (164 feet) towers will be used for round-the-clock surveillance of the 200-kilometer (125-mile) border between Poland and Kaliningrad which lies on the Baltic Sea.

Prompt Global Strike (PGS) is a United States military effort to develop a system that can deliver a precision-guided conventional weapon airstrike anywhere in the world within one hour, in a similar manner to a nuclear ICBM.

BAE Systems will make next week the first delivery of its production vehicle for the Army's upgraded M109A7 Paladin self-propelled howitzers program. Delivery will be in Elgin, Oklahoma. The vehicles are built at BAE's York, Pennsylvania, facility, and final assembly is in Elgin.

Venezuela has announced plans to increase its total amount of arms imports from Russia and China in the coming years. Venezuela is the largest weapons importer in Latin America, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Since 2011, the country spent some $2.6 on weapons, buying the majority of them in Russia.

According to the rearming plan of the Southern Military District, another 30 Typhoons armored vehicles were set into service of the Special Task Force units located in Rostov region. Typhoon is a unique armored vehicle which is capable to protect personnel after explosion of device up to 8 kg of TNT under the vehicle. The vehicle is designed composite body armor (ceramic and steel) in order to provide protection against armor-piercing incendiary rounds.
