Russia has officialy announced all the combat vehicles that will be shown for the Victory Day military parade on the Red Square in Moscow, May 9, 2015. The upcoming parade in Moscow will be the largest in history. Many new tanks and armoured vehicles will be unveiled to the public for the first time.

The US military kicked off training exercises yesterday in Ukraine for Fearless Guardian, and in the Philippines for the 31st iteration of Exercise Balikatan, a Pentagon spokesman said today. Philippine Army Special Forces freefall parachutists jump from a KC-130J "Sumos" aircraft over Crow Valley, Philippines, May 15, 2014, during high-altitude low-opening jump training at Balikatan 2014. This year is the 31st iteration of Balikatan, an annual Philippines-U.S. military bilateral training exercise.

South Korea said today it will sharply raise the defense budget over the next five years to beef up its capabilities against North Korea's nuclear and missile programs. The budget injection of 8.7 trillion won ($8.03 billion) is based on the assessment that Pyongyang is believed to have reached a "significant" point in efforts to master the technology to miniaturize nuclear warheads that fit atop missiles.

Raytheon Company announced on Friday, April 17, it has been awarded a contract worth over $2.0 billion to deliver the combat-proven Patriot Air and Missile Defense System to an undisclosed international customer. The MIM-104 Patriot is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system is already in use in several different countries, such as Spain, Germany and South Korea.

French defence minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, is today, April 20, at Beirut Air Base in Lebanon to deliver the first weapons as part of the Saudi Arabia $3 billion contract to help Lebanese armed forces in the fighting against Islamist militants. This first shipment includes 48 Milan anti-tank missiles.

Germany will deliver PzH 2000 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzer and Boxer 8x8 armoured personnel carrier to Lithuania to boost its defense power to response to the new Russian threat in Ukraine. During a meeting in Vilnius, April 15, 2015, the German Federal Minister of Defence Dr Ursula von der Leyen and the Lithuanian Minister of Defense discussed the possibility for Lithuania to buy Panzerhaubitze PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery systems and Germany has given a positive answer.

Russia's KBP Instrument Design Bureau is considering developing a special tracked version of its Pantsir (SA-22 Greyhound) self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile system for use in the Arctic. The Pantsir is typically mounted on a wheeled chassis, however its maneuverability in the heavy snow is "significantly restricted," Vladimir Popov, director general of the KBP subsidiary JSC Scheglovsky Val, told the TASS news agency.
