Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia starts testing new Patrol-A multi-purpose armored vehicle
New armored vehicle "Patrol-A" has recently started tests with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported yesterday, April 7 the Russian website military-informant.com. This new armored vehicle, based on the KAMAZ-43501 4x4 chassis, has been transferred to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for a series of field tests.

The Patrol-A is produced by the Russian vehicle manufacturer Astais and is designed for patrol, transport and reconnaissance purposes.

Patrol-A has been developed under an order of the Russian Interior Ministry. This armored vehicle is designed to carry personnel (up to 10 men, including the driver and commander), various cargo, towing trailer systems, and can be fitted with armament and special equipment to ensure the required level of bulletproof and mine protection of the crew.

Patrol-A's high capacity wheel and tire assembly comprise of built-in run-flats and bead lock systems. The Patrol-A 4×4 is capable of operating in temperatures ranging between -20 C and +55C. The cabin can be fully customized according to specific requirements which include jump seats, benches and individual bucket seats with safety features for personnel protection during high speed and off-road maneuvers.

Astais' Patrol-A is equipped with a Cummins ISBe 6.7 250 261-horsepower turbo diesel engine and a 9-speed gearbox ZF9S1310, which allow a top speed of 100 km / h It has a gross weight of 12,700 kg.
