The Merceds Benz M-Gurad SUV provides high level of protection against gunfire and explosions.

Bullet-proof glass made of polycarbonate is standard and the customized tyres enable the car to be driven despite punctures for 30 kilometres at speeds of to 80 km/h.

As a result of the modifications – and testing with Magnus .357 and .44 caliber firearms and DM51 hand grenades – the M-Guard has earned VR4 certification in accordance with the Bullet Resistance Vehicles (BRV) 2009 standards.

The M-Guard is powered by a 258-horsepower V6 diesel engine and comes at a premium price owing to the many security features. Prices start at 105 050 euros or nearly twice as much as the standard M-Class.

The M-Guard version also weighs 600 kilograms more. A more powerful and expensive M-Guard variant with a 408-hp V9 engine is also available.
