New Chinese 15P High-maneuverability 105mm 4x4 self-propelled howitzer Fire Assault Vehicle 1811144

With this new vehicle, Chinese Defense Industry provides a new type of light howitzer which can be used by airborne troops or that can be rapidly deployable by military transport aircraft.

The 15P vehicle uses an open top architecture with any protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. At the front of the vehicle, there is two seats, one for the driver and one for the commander.

Main armament of the 15P consists of a 105mm howitzer mounted at the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle is also fitted with a small open-top turret armed with a 12.7mm which can be used for air defense and against land threats. On bank of four smoke grenade dischargers are mounted at the front on each side of the vehicle.

The 105mm howitzer has a maximum firing range of 10.8 km and can fire 8 type types of NATO artillery projectiles. The 15P can be also used as anti-tank gun.

The 15P has a total weight of 15 tons and can carry a total of 8 soldiers including driver, commander and gunner for the 12.7mm machine gun.

The 15P can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h, climb a gradient of 60% and fording depth of 1.1m without preparation. Standard equipment of the 15P includes different types of radio stations, one spare wheel at the rear of the chassis and one self-recovery winch mounted at the front of the vehicle.
