Chinese defense industry unveils a new generation of light 6x6 armoured combat vehicle under the name of 13P. This new vehicle was presented at the booth of Poly Technology at AirShow China 2014, and is designed to be used mainly as armoured personnel carrier (APC).

The 13P has a total weight of 16.5 tons and carry a total of 13 people including driver, commander, gunner and 10 infantrymen.

The 13P is fitted with a one-man turret mounted in the center top of the hull, armed with one 30mm automatic cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun mounted at the left side of the main armament. A bank of three smoke grenade dischargers is mounted at the front each side of the turret.

The all-welded steel hull of the 13P protects the crew and troops against firing of small arms and shell splinters.

The driver sits at the front of the hull in the left and has a single-piece hatch cover that opens to his rear with three integral day periscopes for forward observation. The upper of the driver hatch is fitted with a night vision system.

There are two doors in the hull, one on the left side immediately behind the front axle and one at the back. Troops enter and leave the vehicle via the rear door, which is hinged on the right side and has a small bulletproof window and one single firing port. There are four periscopes and firing ports in each side of the troop compartment. Two observation/firing hatches in each side of the roof troop compartment open upwards and can be locked open.

The engine is located at the front of the vehicle. The 13P can reach a maximum road speed of 105 km/h.

The 13P is fully amphibious being propelled in the water by two propellers mounted at the rear of the hull.
