Chinese Defense Company NORINCO introduces Crew Task Support UGV at AirShow China 2014.
At the 10th International (Zhuhai) Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in China, the Chinese Defense Company introduces a full range of new UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) as the Crew Task Support Unmanned Mobile Platform which seems very similar to the SMSS designed and developed by the American Company Lockheed Martin.

The Crew Task Support UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) is a light-weight unmanned all-terrain vehicle, which can carry normal weapon equipment and personal material of basic level crew. It can conduct mobile actions in complicated landforms, such as hilly areas, jungle coastal beach and shoal, desert, grassland, snow land, etc.

It has four driving modes: accompanying drive, remote control drive, semi-auto drive and full auto drive. The platform adopt 6x6 no-suspension bracket all-terrain vehicle body, extended-range hybrid power drive, dual-motor differential steering, ultra-low pressure tire, high-precision and all-direction environment sensor and image processing system, path planning and processing computer with large data volume.

Maincombat missions of this mobile platform: carrying all the crew with equipment to perform serach, patrol, combat tasks at frontline, transporting military equipment, ammunition and medical supplies, as well as autonomous field casualty care and border patrol, etc.
