First edition of ADEX Azerbaijan International Defence Industry Exhibition from 11 to 13 September 1

The military industrial complex of Azerbaijan has implemented a number of major projects and has had a major increase in its capabilities. Azerbaijan currently produces 900 different defence products, including all types of ammunition, machinery and weaponry. The Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan is increasing its military and technological cooperation with many countries on the basis of joint activities and partnership. The industry has reached a level where the organisation of an exhibition is a necessity. A strong state needs a strong army. ADEX 2014 will be a reflection of this concept, featuring the presentation of the latest achievement of the foreign exhibitors and the defence industry of Azerbaijan.

The relevance and importance of the exhibition for the region is shown by the fact that the exhibition has attracted great interest from state bodies, business communities and industrial organisations from Azerbaijan and other countries. Even though it is an inaugural event, ADEX 2014 has attracted 200 companies from 34 countries and 22 official delegations, which will take up 3 pavilions of the Baku Expo Center. 8 national groups from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Poland, Israel and Ukraine will present their displays at the exhibition. Other well represented companies among the exhibitors are from Turkey (37 companies), Israel (16 companies), Poland (16 companies), and Belarus (10 companies).

The demonstration of the latest achievements of industrial enterprises will be divided into 6 subjects: the armaments and technologies of land forces and navy, aviation and aviation armaments, air defence systems and equipment, specialised equipment, information technologies, communication systems and equipment, logistical and technical support and space technologies.

All of this makes ADEX the most effective platform for the demonstration of the potential of the defence industry of Azerbaijan, the review of modern defence technologies and latest models of military hardware offered for export to the world arms market and the development of international cooperation. The organisation of this specialised exhibition will help the development of the defence industry and will help to ensure the competitiveness of the military products of Azerbaijan on the global market.
