On December 3, 2014, Russian separatists attacked one Ukrainian Border Guards armored vehicle Cougar using an explosive device. Even though the armored vehicle was extensively damaged, all the occupants inside the vehicle survived and only suffered minor injuries. Once again, lives were saved due to use of Streit Group Cougar APC armored vehicle.

In July 2014, the Ukrainian National Guard has received several Cougar 4x4 APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) designed by the UAE-based Defense Company Streit Group, manufactured under license by the Ukrainian Defense Company KrAZ.

The Cougar 4x4 is a light armoured vehicle personnel carrier designed and manufactured by the Defence Company Streit Group. The Cougar is based on a Toyota chassis adapted to be used as all-terrain military vehicle.

The Cougar has a steel hull with a large windscreen at the front, two side doors with bulletproof windows which provide good visibility under ballistic protection. The hull provides a protection for the crew CEN Level BR6 (7.62x51 mm NATO caliber at a range of 10 m).
