The Dozor B is a 4x4 light armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed and developed in Ukraine by the Company Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB).

Mass production of the new vehicle could start in March of this year. The launch of production was delayed due to a new design which allows the use of different engines. The first version was designed to use the German engine DEUTZ BF 4M 1013 FC, but the German Company has not confirmed the delivery of the engines needed for vehicle production.

According engineers of KMDB, the Dozor-B is now ready to be manufacture with different engines and powertrain.

The DOZOR family includes two-axis all-wheel drive vehicles based on a generic 4x4 chassis, with a choice of armored and unarmored cabs incorporating many of the components and subassemblies adopted from the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier (APC).

The armoured variant DOZOR-B-1311, for example, is built as an APC with bulletproof armor. The roof accommodates a 12.7-mm KT-12.7 machinegun which is aimed and fired remotely from within the armored hull. Provisions are made for wicket loop-holes to enable handgun fire to be conducted from within the cab. The vehicle comes complete with a VHF radio operating out to 20 kilometers. The armored personnel carrier DOZOR-B is designed to provide transportation for personnel and military loads, and it ensures reliable protection against small arms fire and effects of the weapons of mass destruction.

The vehicles can be used by special operations forces and rapid reaction police squads in the capacity of a transport vehicle or a platform for a variety of weapons systems and military equipment, on the battlefield or in peacekeeping operations. It can operate over different terrain types, on highway or off-the-road.

The DOZOR-B series of APC’s is provided in various configurations, including: an armored personnel carrier, armored car, NBC reconnaissance vehicle, command vehicle, medical evacuation vehicle, scout vehicle or utility automobile.
