Driverless Ural military truck prototype shown at Army 2022 forum


PATRIOT PARK /Moscow Region/, August 16. /TASS-DEFENSE/. A prototype of the first driverless military truck Ural has been shown at the Army 2022 international military and technical forum, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene.

The vehicle was developed on the basis of the 4×4 Ural-432067-73 chassis. The driverless truck can carry cargo with a weight of up to 5 tons. It has a speed of up to 80 km/h (50 mph) and is capable of negotiating various obstacles, including a 70-cm ford. The Ural truck can be controlled remotely or in autonomous mode.

The new military truck is powered by a 240 hp straight-four engine, has an automatic gearbox and a pneumatic ABS. The driverless vehicle has a road weight of more than 6.4 tons.

The Army 2022 international military-technical forum is running on August 15-21 at the Patriot exhibition center outside Moscow. The Defense Ministry is the organizer of the forum.
