The RG-32M is a 4x4 Light Armoured Vehicle designed and manufactured by BAE Systems. The RG32M has various military and non-military applications to fulfill a wide spectrum of command, liaison, scouting, patrol and peacekeeping roles. The RG32M is a new development in the successful RG32 range, already deployed worldwide with peacekeeping forces, security forces and combat forces. The RG32M’s ample payload and capacity enable it to fulfill a wide spectrum of command, liaison and scouting roles. Typically it would transport five 95 percentile crew members with their kit, combat stores and special purpose equipment for a 48-hour battlefield mission. This includes additional rear protection extended over the rear axle. |

Design and protection |
The all-steel, welded armour, monocoque hull protects the crew against small arms fire, grenades, anti-personnel mines and land mine detonations under any wheel. The engine and other key components are also protected against small arms fire and shrapnel. The RG32M is also available with a full armoured body that stretches over the rear axle. Protection also includes the firewall, roof and floor, which is designed to protects the occupants against a single anti-tank mine (7kg of TNT) under any wheel. The RG32M has a V-shaped hull that protects those insides against armour piercing rifle fire and anti-tank mines. Crew and vehicle survivability is achieved through applied systems engineering techniques and by utilizing OMC’s unrivaled knowledge base gained from vehicle operations in Africa, Asia, Middle-East and Balkans, in addition to rigorous and systematic field-testing in South Africa, the UK, Sweden and the Middle-East.
|
Propulsion |
The RG32M is a four-wheel drive vehicle with suspension including coil springs, longitudinal arms and Panhard rods as well as double-acting hydraulic shock absorbers. High levels of tactical mobility, endurance and crew comfort of the RG-32M are achieved by the Steyr Monoblock M16TCA 3.2L diesel engine, coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission Allison S1000 and portal axles. The RG-32M can reach a maximum speed of 110km/h at a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 7,500kg.
