U.S. and allied Special Operations Forces have unique requirements for vehicles regarding performance, mobility and transportability. Polaris vehicles allow SOCOM to manage their ultra-light tactical mobility needs to meet mission demands and emerging threats. These vehicles are designed for U.S. and allied SOF to be lightweight, highly mobile and air-transportable vehicles.

The Polaris MRZR is a purpose-built platform based off the RZR 900, but with upgrades for military customers. The 2 and 4 seat variants are designed to be lightweight in order to be air transportable and maintain the agility required by operators. Payload capacity is also increased over the commercial vehicle platform and the MRZR has a collapsible roll cage to fit into military aircraft. Additionally, the MRZR features upgraded shocks, common size tires, standard winch, front/rear bumpers, IR light capability, military tan color, and a modular cargo box which is made to be equipped with jerry can, spare tire holders, and other essential gear.

The Polaris MV850 is based off of the SPORTSMAN touring ATV. The MV850 is a tactical vehicle like the MRZR, but with a straddle seat and handle bars for a single operator. It has military upgrades similar to the MRZR in regards to increased payload, shocks, tire and other upgrades. The MV850 also has variable assist for easier steering at lower speeds to reduce rider fatigue and increased fuel capacity for long distance travel.

Vehicles equipped with the Polaris TerrainArmor™ tires are engineered to maintain operability after sustaining tire damage that would typically destroy a pneumatic tire. TerrainArmor tires also are designed for peak performance at full vehicle payload and eliminate the need for an on-vehicle spare, which increases available payload and reduces the logistical burden.
