Russian Iskander-M missile complex hits mock enemy target within Tsentr 2019


Iskander-M tactical missile complex crews carried out a successful combat missile launch for a training target at the Donguz training ground in the Orenburg region during the main stage of the Tsentr 2019 maneuvers.

The military personnel of the missile formation of the Central Military District destroyed a target imitating an important facility enemy target with the help of the Iskander complex cruise missile.

During the maneuvers, the Iskander crews also complied with the standards for transferring the complex from marching to combat position, as well as in reloading missiles to launchers using transport and loading vehicles. To evaluate the effectiveness of hitting a target, an Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle was used.

The dimensions of the Donguz training ground allow for interspecific and joint exercises using all types of small arms, weapons of combat vehicles, artillery systems, aircraft weapons, including Iskander-M missile complex.

In total, Tsentr 2019 maneuvers involve about 128,000 servicemen, more than 20,000 pieces of weapons and military hardware, about 600 aircraft and up to 15 ships and support vessels including 12,950 servicemen (military personnel of the Russian Federation up to 10,700, foreign states up to 2,250 people), up to 250 tanks, about 450 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, 200 artillery systems and MLRS will be involved in practical actions of troops at Donguz, Totsky, Adanak training grounds in the European part of the Russian Federation.
