Navistar lands a $18 mn FMS from Iraq for 115 Medium Tactical Vehicles
Navistar Defense LLC has been was an $18,778,845 foreign military sales contract from Iraq for the 115 Medium Tactical Vehicles (MTV), the US Department of Defense announced on May 18 on its website. Navistar's MTV is based on the International WorkStar/7000-MV severe service vocational truck platform.

"Work will be performed in West Point, Mississippi; Ooltewah, Tennessee; and Marion Wisconsin, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 13, 2018. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity," the US DoD said.

The award increases the company's sales of Medium Tactical Vehicles, which are built on the International(R) WorkStar(TM) platform, previously known as the 7000 Series.

Capable of climbing a 60 percent gradient and maneuvering 40 percent side slopes, Navistar's high-mobility MTV also incorporates automatic traction control, anti-lock brakes, self-diagnostics and advanced electronics systems. Additional options include MaxxForce(R) D 9.3L and 13L powertrain offerings as well as a central tire inflation system (CTIS).

Navistar medium tactical vehicles are currently in operation in countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Canada, Israel, Jordan and Taiwan.
