GDELS and Airbus test loaded a Piranha V in an A400M
General Dynamics European Land Systems and Airbus Defence and Space, demonstrated the ability to load and unload a Piranha V armoured personnel carrier into an A400M transport aircraft. The test included all the procedures followed during a vehicles entry and exit from the air platform, as well as its tie-down according to the safety regulations.

The test took place at Airbus Defence and Space’s location in Seville, Spain. It demonstrated the ability to carry out all the procedures safely and without any restrictions. An A400M aircraft can transport this type of vehicles and 29 fully equipped soldiers.

More than 11,550 Piranha family of vehicles have been manufactured and are currently in use all over the world. The Danish Army has recently decided to procure 309 Piranha V 8x8 vehicles, while the Spanish Army selected it as a platform for the integration of indigenous systems and subsystems, for the Future Wheeled Combat Vehicle programme.
