According to preliminary reports, the combat aircraft were shot down by unknown individuals using man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS). As a result of the shooting, two servicemen were killed and several others sustained injuries," it said.

In addition, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Army Aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was damaged with shots from small arms.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense informs that after the intense combat near Slavyansk the situation is localized and controlled in the region. The Ukrainian military repelled the attacks of armed groups. The extremists used heavy and light arms as well as hand grenades.

Two servicemen were killed. Seven persons were wounded but they refused to be hospitalized.

The paratroopers along with the National Guard units returned control over the TV tower in Kramatorsk. Having cleaned and investigated the territory, the military found that about 200 militants were in the area; they made the appropriate engineering organization of the terrain.

One of the armored groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces completed a maneuver: they cleaned the bridge between Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. Currently, the Ukrainian engineering units complete the bridge mine clearing as the extremists professionally mined the facility.
