Azerbaijan orders new Russian-made light armoured tactical vehicles Scorpion and Scorpion B.
The security agencies of Azerbaijan ordered Russian-made armored light airborne attack vehicle “Skorpion B” and unarmored personnel carriers “Skorpion”, Deputy General Director of Russia-based “Zashchita” Corporation CJSC Alexey Kagarlitsky told APA’s Moscow correspondent.

According to him, Azerbaijan’s security agencies and “Zashchita” Corporation CJSC hold negotiations on sales of above-mentioned vehicles and Azerbaijani side ordered several Skorpions.

In October 2011, the Russian Defence industry unveils a new light tactical vehicle, the Skorpion-2M. A video of the vehicle was show on the press agency web site RIA Novosti.

The Skorpion is a cross between a passenger car and an off-roader. The Skorpion-2 can carry up to 10 people. There is also an armored version of the Skorpion who was named Skorpion LTA in Russia, probably the Skorpion-B variant for Azerbaijan.

The Skorpion-B is protected against firing of small arms and land mines explosions 6kg of TNT under the chassis, the vehicle can be used for patrol, security tasks and to escort convoys.
