"We are ready to reinvigorate Zimbabwe's defense power," Vahidi said in Tehran on Sunday morning.

He also referred to the defense cooperation between the two countries in the past, and stressed Iran's readiness to share its experiences with Harare in different fields.

Mnangagwa, for his part, underlined Zimbabwe's enthusiasm for the expansion of cooperation with Iran.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's administration has striven hard to maximize relations with the African continent.

Tehran in September 2010 hosted a large number of government and private sector officials from more than 40 African states for a two-day conference called 'Iran-Africa Forum'.

Earlier, Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi in Tehran had underlined Iran's interest in the further development of mutual cooperation with Harare in all fields.

"Increasing the cooperation and the level of economic exchanges between Iran and Zimbabwe in the different sectors will serve the interests of the two nations and regional countries," Ahmadinejad said in November 2010.
